In the circumstances in which we find ourselves, I believe that our Lord is asking each of us to make heroic sacrifices for the good of everyone around us. For a small number of us, we are called to go out in order to serve. For the vast majority of us, we are called to stay home. Both are acts of service…and of love.
How truly and deeply these circumstances invite each of us to enter into His Passion in very personal ways! In the weeks ahead, we will each find ourselves in circumstances – from annoying inconveniences to potentially devastating losses – in which our Lord invites us to push through our fears and suffering, to embrace whatever crosses we are given, and guided by the His spirit of sacrificial love, to offer it all as a prayer for those who are suffering around us.
God is real. And He is with us now.
