Alyssa Verderami, Esq. started her professional career at Rutgers University and graduated with a B.S.N. degree in 1992. Alyssa began working as a Registered Nurse in the trauma intensive care unit of a level I trauma center for the next seven (7) years. She assumed roles in clinical, administrative and leadership positions during her nursing career.

Thereafter, Alyssa attended Seton Hall Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctorate in 1999. Immediately upon graduation from law school, Alyssa worked at a boutique medical malpractice defense firm where she represented hospitals, physicians and nurses. In 2000, she began working at the law firm of Norris, McLaughlin & Marcus and during her eight (8) years there provided counseling and litigation support to a variety of healthcare clients, including a major central New Jersey hospital system, on multiple issues.

In 2008, Alyssa joined Saint Peter’s Healthcare System as Associate General Counsel. In 2009, she assumed the additional role of Director of Risk Management. In July of 2015, Alyssa was promoted to Vice President of Risk Management Services where she was responsible for overseeing the off-shore captive insurance company. In December of 2017, she became Vice President of Legal and Risk Management services. She also served for five (5) months as interim Chief Human Resources Officer.

Alyssa is certified in Healthcare Compliance and Healthcare Risk Management. She is a member of AHLA, ASHRM, and HCCA.
