James S. Choma

James S. Choma, Chief Development Officer and Foundation Executive Director, Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, Inc., and Interim Executive Director for The National Gianna Center for Women’s Health and Fertility, joined Saint Peter’s as CDO in September 2011.

Primary responsibilities include working with System Boards and Senior Administration to increase major and planned gifts, oversee feasibility studies and launch capital campaigns.  In 2013, Jim assumed additional responsibilities as Executive Director of Saint Peter’s Foundation. His primary charge is to manage foundation staff to develop and execute an integrated program that creates a culture of philanthropy and increases major and planned gifts.

In May, 2017, Jim was appointed Interim Executive Director of The National Gianna Center for Women’s Health and Fertility by Bishop James F. Checchio, Ordinary of the Diocese of Metuchen.  Before coming to Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, Jim served as Morris Habitat for Humanity’s Director of Development.  Prior to this engagement, Jim held several leadership positions in the Archdiocese of Newark, including Secretary for Development and Executive Director of Seton Hall University’s International Institute for Priestly Formation.  Jim Choma is a graduate of Saint Peter’s College with a B.S. in Computer Science.  He also enjoys two Master degrees – Master of Divinity from Seton Hall University and Master of Arts in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University.
